Ben Young (the director of this truly insane short film) pitched me his vision for the score for GOOEY GOATS as UNCUT GEMS meets AKIRA meets DONKEY KONG. I mean, how could I pass up the chance to write something like that? Every time I sent a new cue over to Ben, I had the same thought: "This piece of music is way too weird; there's no way he's going to keep this in the movie." I shouldn't have worried. This is the strangest film I've ever worked on, and appropriately, I wrote my strangest score for it. It was a delight working with Ben on this; he rarely asked me to tone any of the music down - in fact, it was not unusual for him to request the score to get even weirder! I'm very proud of the work I did for this film and I'm really glad Ben entrusted me to be a part of his passion project.
